Air Force golfers finish 17th at Tucker Invitational

Despite a solid showing by Tyler Goulding, the Air Force golf team struggled Oct. 2 to finish 17th at the William H. Tucker Invitational, held by University of New Mexico at their 7,354-yard, par-72 course here.

Arizona won the tournament with a 9-under-par 855, while University of Nevada-Las Vegas’ Ryan Moore shot a tournament-low round of 65 Oct. 2 to claim medalist honors at 11-under-par 205.

Goulding finished the weekend tied for 13th place (1-over-par 217) after shooting an even-72 Oct. 3. Meanwhile, the rest of the Falcons were unable to improve their positions, with Ben Jackman posting the second-best Air Force finish, tying for 59th with a 9-over 225. Daryl McCoy ended up two strokes behind Jackman, tying for 64th place.

Rounding out the competition for Air Force were Tyler Labrum, in 95th with a three-round total of 238, and Kala’e Leong, tied for 96th at 239.

The Falcons next play Oct. 10 at the Rocky Mountain Invitational.
