Air Force issues ‘stop movement’ for Patrick, Cape Canaveral Published Sept. 23, 2004 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- Air Force officials have issued a “stop-movement’ order for people permanently moving to or transiting Patrick Air Force Base or Cape Canaveral Air Station, Fla., based on the probability that Hurricane Jeanne will affect the area. This order also effects any duty location serviced by either base's respective military personnel flight.“Stop movement” precludes people from moving into a hazardous area, in this case a natural disaster which would potentially put them in harm's way, according to officials. Resources, such as facilities, which may be required in the aftermath are freed up as well, said officials. The order also means people permanently leaving either Patrick AFB or Cape Canaveral AS will have their departures delayed. Those heading permanently or temporarily to either location who have not yet departed their current duty station should remain at that station until further guidance is given, officials said. Airmen who have already departed should immediately contact their previous military personnel flight for instructions. Officials said hose who have already departed from an overseas location should contact the nearest installation's MPF for instructions. Also, HH-60 Pave Hawk and HC-130 aircraft from the 45th Space Wing at Patrick AFB began relocating to Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga. Officials at Homestead ARB, Fla., are considering relocating base aircraft.
