Officials announce Innkeeper Award winners Published Aug. 25, 2004 SAN ANTONIO (AFPN) -- Air Force Services Agency officials recently announced the winners of its annual Innkeeper Award. Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., won in the large-base category, and Laughlin AFB, Texas, received the small-base category award.Created in 1981, The Air Force Innkeeper Award program is managed by the agency’s lodging branch. The award is presented annually to recognize lodging operations that provide the most outstanding hotel-type lodging and customer service to Air Force travelers. The program encourages innkeepers to improve their management and operation of lodging facilities at the 95 major Air Force bases worldwide. The ultimate and intended benefactor is the customer, officials said. The competition is divided into two categories: large (286 or more bed spaces) and small. A traveling trophy is presented to each award category winner.
