Officials announce services award winners

Air Force Services Agency officials announced the winners of the 2003 services awards recently.

Ramstein Air Base, Germany, won the Gen. Curtis E. Lemay Trophy for best overall services unit at a large base. Minot Air Force Base, N.D., won the Maj. Gen. Eugene L. Eubank Trophy for best services at a small base.

The winners will be recognized during the Air Force Services Awards banquet Aug. 27 during the Air Force Services Worldwide Conference in Denver.

Other individual winners are:

-- Gen. Michael P. C. Carns Award: Lt. Col. Kathleen Ryan of U.S. Air Force protocol at the Pentagon.

-- Lt. Gen. Norm Lezy Award: Leslie Abbott of the directorate of services at the Pentagon.

-- Dr. Beverly L. Schmalzried Award: Mary Anne Scott of the 10th Services Division at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo.

-- Field Grade Officer: Lt. Col. Edward Adelman, 31st Services Squadron commander at Aviano AB, Italy.

-- Company Grade Officer: 1st Lt. Steven Parker of the 90th SVS at F. E. Warren AFB, Wyo.

-- Senior Noncommissioned Officer: Senior Master Sgt. Stephen Bush of the 7th SVS at Dyess AFB, Texas.

-- Noncommissioned Officer: Tech. Sgt. Harvey Gilchrist of the 18th SVS at Kadena AB, Japan.

-- Airman: Senior Airman Dawn Willie Baker of the 435th SVS at Ramstein AB.

-- Senior Civilian Manager: Charles Milam of the 10th SVD.

-- Civilian Flight Chief: Scott Thompson of the 9th SVS at Beale AFB, Calif.

-- Civilian Manager: Donald Johnson of the 37th SVD at Lackland AFB, Texas.

-- Senior Civilian Specialist: William Zwicharowski of the 436th SVS at Dover AFB, Del.

-- Civilian Specialist: Ayumi Osawa of the 374th SVS at Yokota AB, Japan.

-- Civilian Technician: Mitsu Austermann of the 7th SVS.

-- Air Reserve Component Field Grade Officer: Maj. Bradford Montgomery of the 366th SVS at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.

-- ARC Company Grade Officer: Capt. Lowell Bingham Jr. of the 940th Services Flight at Beale AFB.

-- ARC Senior Noncommissioned Officer: Master Sgt. Leon Edwards of the 512th Memorial Affairs Squadron at Dover AFB.

-- ARC Noncommissioned Officer: Staff Sgt. Kenneth Johnson of the 177th Services Flight at Egg Harbor Township Air Guard Station, N.J.

-- ARC Airman: Senior Airman Edward Rorie of the 512th MAS.
