Falcons golf team places 14th at BYU Cougar Classic Published April 26, 2004 PROVO, Utah (AFPN) -- The Air Force Academy men's golf team placed 14th out of 15 teams at the annual Brigham Young University Cougar Classic, held here April 23 to 24. The Falcons shot a three-round total 893 (294-299-300). Falcon golfer Tyler Goulding placed 12th overall to lead the team.Goulding finished the event two strokes under par, carding a 70-73-71 -- 214. He was the only Falcon to finish the event below par. Despite their standing in the tournament, the Falcons improved upon their season average by 10 strokes.Colorado State won the event with a three-round total of 845. After a three-way tie for first place, University of Hawaii's Matthew Kodama won the individual title following a sudden-death playoff.The Cougar Classic was the last regular season tournament for the Falcons. The team will play in the Mountain West Championships at Sunriver, Ore., April 30 to May 2.
