Reserve officials select 756 captains for promotion

Air Reserve Personnel Center officials announced April 15 that 756 captains have been selected for promotion to major.

The officers were selected from the fiscal 2005 Air Force Reserve line and health professions major promotion section boards held at the center Feb. 9 to 14.

Board members considered more than 2,021 Reserve captains.

Selection statistics for captains in-the-promotion zone:

-- 214 line officers selected from 328 considered for a 65-percent rate.

-- Two dental-corps officers selected from three considered for a 67-percent rate.

-- 21 medical-corps officers selected from 27 considered for a 78-percent rate.

-- 50 nurse-corps officers selected from 76 considered for a 66-percent rate.

-- Five medical-service-corps officers selected from nine considered for a 56-percent rate.

-- 12 biomedical-science-corps officers selected from 20 considered for a 60-percent rate.

Selection statistics for captains above-the-promotion zone:

-- 98 line officers selected from 241 considered for a 41-percent rate.

-- One dental-corps officer selected from two considered for a 50-percent rate.

-- Five medical-corps officers selected from 11 considered for a 45-percent rate.

-- 22 nurse-corps officers selected from 43 considered for a 51-percent rate.

-- Four medical-service-corps officers selected from 10 considered for a 40-percent rate.

-- Seven biomedical-science-corps officers selected from 21 considered for a 33-percent rate.

Selective Reserve position vacancy selection statistics:

-- 138 line officers selected from 184 considered for a 75-percent rate.

-- One dental-corps officer selected from one considered for a 100-percent rate.

-- No medical-corps officers were considered.

-- 38 nurse-corps officers selected from 50 considered for a 76-percent rate.

-- 19 medical-service-corps officers selected from 25 considered for a 76-percent rate.

-- Six biomedical-science-corps officers selected from seven considered for an 86-percent rate.

-- 54 line officers selected from 388 considered for a 14-percent rate.

-- 11 dental-corps officers selected from 79 considered for a 14-percent rate.

-- 11 medical-corps officers selected from 68 considered for a 16-percent rate.

-- 20 nurse-corps officers selected from 130 considered for a 15-percent rate.

-- One medical-service-corps officer selected from three considered for a 33-percent rate.

-- 10 biomedical-science-corps officers selected from 64 considered for a 16-percent rate.

-- Five line officers selected from 81 considered for a 6-percent rate.

-- One dental-corps officer selected from 54 considered for a 2-percent rate.

-- No biomedical-science-corps officers were selected from 30 considered.
