Officials announce Air Force comptroller awards

Air Force officials announced the 2003 financial management and comptroller awards.

Award winners will be recognized at a ceremony June 2 at the American Society of Military Comptrollers Professional Development Institute in Cleveland.

Michael Montelongo, the assistant secretary of the Air Force for financial management and comptroller, will present the awards.

The 2003 award winners include:

-- Financial Management and Comptroller of the Year: Maj. David Doe from the 28th Comptroller Squadron at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D.

-- Financial Analysis Officer of the Year: Capt. Austin Sorensen from the 347th CPTS at Moody AFB, Ga.

-- Financial Analysis Civilian of the Year (GS-11 and above): Jim Evans from the 9th Air Force at Shaw AFB, S.C.

-- Financial Analysis Civilian of the Year (GS-10 and below): Lydia Andrews from the 43rd CPTS at Pope AFB, N.C.

-- Financial Services Officer of the Year: 1st Lt. William Beauter from the 341st CPTS at Malmstrom AFB, Mont.

-- Financial Services Civilian of the Year (GS-11 and above): George Jewett from the 28th CPTS.

-- Financial Services Civilian of the Year (GS-10 and below): Sung Ko from the 607th Accounting and Finance Squadron at Osan Air Base, South Korea.

-- Financial Management Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Robert Davis from the 99th CPTS at Nellis AFB, Nev.

-- Financial Management NCO of the Year: Tech. Sgt. John Digiorgio from the 11th Wing, Financial Management and Comptroller at the Pentagon.

-- Financial Management Airman of the Year: Staff Sgt. Christi Skiles from the 437th CPTS at Charleston AFB, S.C.

-- Superintendent of the Year: Senior Master Sgt. Murray Connor from the 436th CPTS at Dover AFB, Del.

-- Acquisition Cost Analyst of the Year (Military): Capt. Edwin Cintron from the Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles AFB, Calif.

-- Acquisition Cost Analyst of the Year (Civilian): Deidra Eberhardt from the SMC.

-- Nonappropriated Fund Analyst of the Year (Major Command/Field Operating Agency/Direct Reporting Unit Level): Leah Ann Qualls from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo.

-- Nonappropriated Fund Analyst of the Year (Installation Level): Christine Geyer from the 86th CPTS at Ramstein AB, Germany.

-- Outstanding Contribution to Financial Management and Comptroller (Officer) (MAJCOM/FOA/DRU Level): Capt. Jack Gardner from Air Mobility Command headquarters at Scott AFB, Ill.
