Air Force productivity excellence awards announced

Eight Air Force teams and one individual recently received top honors for their resource-saving improvements to the Air Force.

The Air Force Productivity Excellence Award recognizes Airmen, Air Force civilians and small groups (four or less) who have made substantial improvements in productivity. This year, the winners’ efforts resulted in more than $53 million in tangible savings. Those improvements came as suggestions through the Innovative Development through Employee Awareness program, special acts and other management initiatives.

This year’s winning teams came from the following units:

-- 1st Component Maintenance Squadron’s propulsion flight at Langley Air Force Base, Va.

-- 7th Civil Engineer Squadron and 7th Contracting Squadron at Dyess AFB, Texas.

-- E-3B/C Airborne Warning and Control System function at Langley AFB.

-- Air Education and Training Command’s directorate of operations here.

-- Contractor logistics support function at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, Tinker AFB, Okla.

-- Fuel accessories and production branch’s welding unit at OC-ALC.

-- F-18 combat identification function at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins AFB, Ga.

-- 3-D Equipment Maintenance Squadron at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.
