A three-person crew with the Discovery Channel filmed parts of a documentary here recently on military wonders from around the world.

The various aircraft featured were the F/A-22 Raptor, C/V-22, Airborne Laser, Global Hawk and the F-117A Nighthawk.

The show, titled "Seven Wonders of the Military World," is scheduled to air sometime in May.

"It's a show featuring all branches of the military," said Gordon Platt, the show's producer. "We've visited other military installations such as Eglin Air Force Base, (Fla.) and we'll go to the Navy station in San Diego."

The best part of being a producer on TV shows is learning about a variety of people and their jobs, Mr. Platt said.

"This is my first big experience with the Air Force, and it's been great so far," he said. “My favorite part was the opportunity to get up close to the aircraft. It looks a lot different on (television)."

For Michael Gatt, a field audio engineer with the production company, the best part of the documentary was exposure to the different aircraft.

"It's amazing what humans can do when they come together,” he said. “I'm really impressed with the safety of the base personnel and how they look out for each other. The Global Hawk was amazing, as well as the Airborne Laser."

Kevin Roberts, documentary cameraman and the production company's owner, said the people here were incredible to work with.

"The people we meet, the experiences we have and the places we go make it all worth it," he said.
