AF announces colonel selections

The colonel line of the Air Force, judge advocate general, chaplain, medical service corps and nurse corps boards selected 498 lieutenant colonels for promotion to colonel.

The entire list will be posted on the Air Force Personnel Center World Wide Web, www.afpc.randolph.af.mil, by Jan. 24.

The board convened here Oct. 27 and considered 4,676 lieutenant colonels for promotion. The results of the 2003 board are as follows:

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for colonel:

Line -- 355 selected from 795 considered for 44.7-percent select rate.

Chaplain -- Seven selected from 17 considered for 41.2-percent select rate.

Judge advocate general -- 18 selected from 31 considered for a 58.1-percent select rate.

Nurse corps -- 18 selected from 57 considered for a 31.6-percent select rate.

Medical service corps -- 11 selected from 20 considered for a 55-percent select rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for colonel:

Line -- 18 selected from 1,059 considered for 1.7-percent select rate.

Chaplain -- No one was selected from 32 considered.

Judge advocate general -- No one was selected from 48 considered.

Nurse corps -- Three selected from 52 considered for a 5.8-percent select rate.

Medical service corps -- One selected from 34 considered for a 2.9-percent select rate

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for colonel:

Line -- 65 selected from 2,287 considered for 2.8-percent select rate.

Chaplain -- There were no officers considered.

Judge advocate general -- No one was selected from 69 considered.

Nurse corps -- Two selected from 120 considered for a 1.7-percent select rate.
