Environmental symposium registration begins Published Dec. 5, 2003 LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. (AFPN) -- Registration began Dec. 1 for the 2004 Environmental Training Symposium scheduled for March 8 to 12 in Nashville, Tenn.The symposium is conducted by officials from Air Combat Command, Air Education and Training Command, Air Mobility Command and Air Force Space Command. More than 1,500 students from throughout the Air Force, other government agencies and national academia will attend the event.“The United States Air Force is proud of its guardianship of our nation's defense and its stewardship of our environment,” said J.P. Smith, symposium director. “The symposium is a vital part of our efforts to meet these commitments to our nation.”Attendees represent nearly all states and more than 15 foreign countries. They include installation and corporate-level civil, environmental and bioenvironmental engineering people as well as representatives from logistics, operations and maintenance, public affairs and occupational safety and health. Environmental attorneys and many local, state and federal Environmental Protection Agency regulators also are expected to attend.Air Force staff and professional educators from throughout the federal government and industry will conduct about 380 course sessions along with several seminars, panel discussions and crossfeed sessions.
