Cadet 1st Class Robert C. Graham II was sentenced by general court-martial Aug. 28 for using and distributing Ecstasy and an Ecstasy derivative.

Graham pleaded guilty and received eight months confinement, dismissal and total forfeiture of all pay and allowances.

For a cadet, dismissal is the equivalent of a dishonorable discharge, and the court-martial is a federal conviction.

Graham was convicted of violating Article 112a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

He faced a maximum of 25 years confinement. Graham entered into a pre-trial agreement to plead guilty to the charge and to assist with other investigations.

The case will be reviewed by the convening authority, Lt. Gen. John Rosa, academy superintendent.
