Sgt. Matt Lomba visits Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, once the focal point for Air Force operations in Southwest Asia. Now the base is a mere shadow of its former self as the Air Force has moved its operations to neighboring Qatar.In the same part of the world, Senior Airman Israel Aviles profiles the reduced role of Incirlik AB, Turkey, where Air Force operations have been changed from wing to group status. Incirlik was once headquarters for Operation Northern Watch, the U. S., British and Turkish operation patrolling the skies over northern Iraq.Staff Sgt. Kevin Dennison travels to Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., to interview Gen. Ed Eberhart and profile Northern Command, the newest major command, which is responsible for protecting national and regional defense.Staff Sgt. Marty Rush examines research by the Air Force, civilian contractors and foreign governments to develop a collision avoidance system for aircraft.Tech. Sgt. Pachari Lutke is at Eglin AFB, Fla., showing how the base’s mission and several protected wildlife species live alongside each other in harmony.Staff Sgt. April Lawrence profiles a chief master sergeant who has produced a public television special saluting country and western music’s contribution to the military.Staff Sgts. Bill Scherer and Joe Wallace go to Niagara Falls, N.Y., to spotlight an Air National Guardsman credited with saving the life of a neighbor who was threatened by an intruder. Scherer and Wallace talk to the victim and a police detective who said the Guardsman not only saved the life of the victim, but also credits her with the capture of the suspect.Air Force Television News is a biweekly production of Air Force News Service.
