Military and industry information technology leaders will convene in Montgomery, Ala., Aug. 24 to 28 for the 2003 Air Force Information Technology Conference.

Organizers estimate that 3,500 military and government employees and 1,500 vendors will attend.

“This is a power-packed week of superb military and industry keynote speakers,” said 1st Lt. Josh Miller, conference chairman. “We’ll have more than 165 in-depth technical seminars and workshops, and more than 170 vendors will showcase the latest technologies."

“Data-disaster plans, protecting national security with a secure-public network, hacker security and collaboration in the warfighting environment represent a minor sampling of the seminar topics to be discussed,” Miller said.

The third day of the conference, known as Senior Communicator Day, is dedicated to Air Force communications and information. It will feature a presentation by a senior Air Force leader.

The day also emphasizes the importance of communications and information within the Air Force, Miller said.

“It’s designed to emphasize the importance of (senior-communicator) activities by providing … an opportunity to meet and discuss current issues with … major command communications and information commanders,” he said.

The conference is open to all military and federal government employees. Standard Systems Group officials here and people at the City of Montgomery present the conference.
