Air Force announces productivity excellence awards

Five Air Force teams and three people recently received top honors for their money-saving improvements to the Air Force.

The Air Force Productivity Excellence Award recognizes Air Force airmen, civilians and small groups who have made substantial improvements in productivity. The winners' efforts resulted in $63 million in tangible savings. Those improvements came as suggestions through the Innovative Development through Employee Awareness program, special acts and other management initiatives.

Lt. Gen. Richard Brown, deputy chief of staff for personnel, presented the awards April 10 at the Pentagon.

This year's recipients include:

-- 363rd Expeditionary Security Forces Team at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia.

-- C-5 Pylon Conebolt Corrosion Removal Team at Robins Air Force Base, Ga.

-- Internet-Based Advanced Distributed Learning Team from here.

-- System Capable of Progressive Expansion Team at Keesler AFB, Miss.

-- Systems Control Course System Administration Team at Keesler AFB.

-- Master Sgt. Kevin P. Rowley for his egress apprentice course redesign at Sheppard AFB, Texas.

-- Robert W. Wyatt for developing the TF34 lube system "flow check" tester at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz.
