That new car smell Published Nov. 20, 2002 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England (AFPN) -- The 48th Fighter Wing here received the first two of 10 new F-15E Strike Eagles bought under contract from the Boeing Co. They are the first new F-15s the wing has received since 1996. The E-model has two Pratt and Whitney F100-P&W-229 engines, each generating 29,000 pounds of thrust.
