Editor's Note: The information in this article does not pertain to civilian Airmen who are still furloughed or whose PCS orders are to a position that is furloughed.

Permanent change of station orders processing is on hold until fiscal 2014 funds are available, but Airmen who already have their orders in hand are authorized to move, Air Force Personnel Center officials said.

Airmen slated for PCS in October or November who do not yet have orders may be delayed, but once the government shutdown ends, orders will be processed.

However, Airmen are authorized to attend formal technical school for courses that directly support initial skills training, officials said. Military personnel sections have been notified and will be available to support Airmen preparing to depart.
