The Little Blue Book is coming to 932nd members

Did you know that the Air Force has a new "Little Blue Book"?  No, it's not like a little black book but the "Little Blue Book", also known as Air Force Instruction 1-1, is a blue booklet detailing the Air Force Culture and standards updated for the 21st century.

The Chief of Staff of the Air Force, has directed that every Air Force member receive a copy.

The "Little Blue Book" is comprised of three sections: the Air Force Environment, Conduct, and Appearance.

A couple of the noteworthy issues that are discussed in the Book are things like Military Ethics, the Air Force's Sexual Prevention and Response Program, the Free Exercise of Religion, the use of Social Media like Facebook and Twitter as well as tattoos/body piercings. Some examples of the prohibitions discussed include the directive that an employee shall not solicit or accept any gift or other item of monetary value from any person or entity seeking official action from, doing business with, or conducting activities regulated by the employee's agency. This would naturally include all contractors.

With social media, when Airmen are expressing personal opinions on social media sites and can be identified as an Airman, you must make it clear that you are speaking for yourself and not on behalf of the Air Force. Also, Airman who provide commentary and opinions on the internet cannot post anything which reasonably can be anticipated to degrade morale, good order and discipline of any members or units in the U.S. Armed Forces or would degrade the trust and confidence of the public in the United States Air Force.


The Little Blue Book is publicly accessible via the Air Force's e-publishing website. However, 932nd legal office has recently ordered a copy for every member of the wing which should coming to them very soon.
