    Air Force officials are seeking nominations for the 69th Annual Arthur S. Flemming Award.
  • Air Force selects 14,181 for promotion to staff sergeant

    Air Force officials have selected 14,181 senior airmen for promotion to staff sergeant out of 32,006 eligible, a selection rate of 44.31 percent. The staff sergeant promotion list will be available on the Air Force Portal and myPers Aug. 24, at 8 a.m. CDT. Airmen will also be able to access their score notices on the virtual Military Personnel

  • Airmen in developmental special duties epitomize leadership, core values

    Air Force officials filled 770 positions across nine developmental special duties, or DSDs, for spring 2017. The DSD nomination process occurs twice each year and is designed to fill specific special duties the Air Force has acknowledged as developmental due to their unique requirements. Commanders are encouraged to nominate any Airman in the rank of staff, technical and master sergeant they feel is the right fit for these critical duties. Nominees must have a demonstrated record of exceptional performance and a high capacity to lead.

  • Student loan forgiveness takes effect in October

    The first forgiveness of student loan balances under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program goes into effect for government employees this October. The program offers forgiveness for remaining balances due on William D. Ford federal direct loans after employees have made at least 120 loan payments after Oct. 1, 2007, while employed full-time

    The Air Force has selected 8,167 staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant out of 25,552 eligible, for a selection rate of 31.96 percent in the 17E6 promotion cycle.
  • Air Force selects 2,311 BSC, LAF officers for promotion

    The Air Force selected 2,311 active-duty officers for promotion to colonel, lieutenant colonel and major during the 2017B Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel Biomedical Sciences Corps and Major Line of the Air Force and Biomedical Sciences Corps central selection boards.

    Air Force officials selected 8,167 staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant out of 25,552 eligible for a selection rate of 31.96 percent. The technical sergeant promotion list will be available on the Air Force Portal and myPers July 20, 2017, at 8 a.m. CDT. On July 20, Airmen can also access their score notices on the Virtual Military Personnel Flight via Air Force Personnel Center’s secure applications page.

  • AETC announces changes to developmental special duty assignments

    Air Force officials are making three substantial changes to the developmental special duty process that will significantly improve the Air Force’s ability to fill these important positions by adding more flexibility to the process and increasing opportunities for NCOs.
  • Air Force offers tuition assistance for civil service Ph.D. candidates

    Air Force officials recently approved tuition assistance funding for eligible Ph.D. candidates through the Civilian Tuition Assistance Program. Applications are due July 2, 2017 for academic programs this fall and need to include a strong justification statement explaining how the course work will benefit the Air Force mission.
