U.S. Army Reserve Capt. Delaney Ferguson, a medical-surgical nurse with Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force (UAMTF) 811-1, gives a shout-out to her fiancé in Omaha, Neb., and mother in Charlotte, N.C., while augmented to Stamford Health-Bennett Medical Center, Stamford, Conn., April 23, 2020. Ferguso and his team are assisting medical soldiers with the Connecticut Army National Guard and hospital staff in the efforts to increase the care capacity and treatment ability of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients, alleviating civilian providers from having to manage lower priority patients. The UAMTF employs unique, expeditionary capabilities provided by U.S. Northern Command to support FEMA as part of a whole-of-nation response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
