Staff. Sgt. Stephanie Travieso, a laboratory technician assigned to the 1st Area Medical Laboratory, discusses the process of receiving and analyzing chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) laboratory samples, June 13, on Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
The 1st Area Medical Laboratory deploys world-wide as a unit or by task-organized teams to perform surveillance, confirmatory analytical laboratory testing, and health hazard assessments of environmental, occupational, endemic and CBRN threats in support of force protection and counter WMD missions.
