Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport hosted a field trip for local school kids to meet service members from Romania, U.S., and Italy. Roughly four thousand students visited during the week of May 27-31, 2019. The event hosted by US, Italian and Romanian Armed Forces gave the children a chance to see and interact with real military aircraft, vehicles and equipment and was also a good opportunity for military personnel to meet the locals. The multinational presence at this event is a strong assurance of cooperation with international militaries and communities.
