POOLED TESTING
U.S. Army Medical Readiness Command, East
Feb. 4, 2021 | 4:18
In October, the Fort Meade Lab began COVID-19 testing of Soldiers, in groups of 10. This testing process is called pooled-testing, which identifies Soldiers are safe for travel to training centers throughout the U.S. and military operation globally. And, if Soldiers test positive, they can be quarantined sooner and begin receiving medical care minimizing the exposure to others. This was the first of Army Medicine’s regional health command laboratories in the continental U.S. to conduct pooled-testing. The lab processes samples received from units throughout the Army until other laboratories are operational.
