U.S. Army Lt. Col. Brian J. Hancock, civil affairs officer assigned to the 79th Theater Support Command, explains Justified Accord 2026 exercise objectives at the Humanitarian Peace Support School, Nairobi, Kenya, Feb. 25, 2026. JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Lion missions and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya and Tanzania, this year’s exercise incorporates personnel from approximately 15 nations. JA26 is U.S. Africa’s Command largest exercise in East Africa (U.S. Army video by Sgt. John Garcia).
