U.S. Marines and Sailors graduate the Basic Reconnaissance Course 2-26 with Reconnaissance Training Company at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 3, 2026. The ceremony was attended and participated in by Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence; Sgt. Maj. Carlos Ruiz, 20th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps; Gen. Francis Donovan, commanding general of U.S. Southern Command; Sgt. Maj. Ronald Green, 18th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps; U.S. Navy Capt. Royce Williams, Medal of Honor recipient; and Sgt. Dakota Meyer, a graduate of BRC 2-26 and Medal of Honor recipient. Employed as an element of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force, Reconnaissance Marines operate in specialized teams to provide timely information to the supported commander to shape and influence the battlefield.
