Air Force delivers humanitarian supplies to China

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Allen Minner, 15th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, pushes a large pallet of humanitarian supplies delivered by a C-17 Globemaster III. Thirteenth Air Force's 613th Air and Space Operations Center Air Mobility Divsion at Hickam AFB coordinated the delivery of 225,890 pounds of relief supplies to Shanghai within 18 hours of Secretary of Defense approval. Thirteenth Air Force Logistics Directorate tasked personnel to prepare cargo and coordinated with Air Terminal Operations Centers at Hickam AFB and Kadena Air Base. Air Force technology helps put out fires faster

A UHP P-19 truck extinguishes a fire during testing July 15 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. Air Force Research Laboratory scientists developed ultra high pressure firefighting technology that yields greater fire fighting capability from smaller, light-weight vehicles. First Air Force Combat Action Medals to be presented

Gen. T. Michael Moseley, the Air Force chief of staff, is scheduled to present the Air Force Combat Action Medal for the first time to six Airmen during an 8 a.m. ceremony June 12 at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Va. The Air Force Combat Action Medal was designed by Susan Gamble, an artist and master designer for the U.S. Mint, in conjunction with the Army Institute of Heraldry. The design of the new medal was inspired by a personal insignia Brig. Gen. William "Billy" Mitchell, one of the military's earliest advocates of air power, had painted on the aircraft he flew over the St. Mihiel while developing plans for the first major American offensive of World War I. Cyrogenics is a cold business

Alternate Energy Source

The HydraFLX System is brought up to the back end of a C-17 Globemaster III to demonstrate its mobile capability at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii Oct. 18, 2006. The HydraFLX System is being tested by the Air Force as an alternate energy source. It will generate ultra-pure H2 (hydrogen) from water in a flexible pressure management process for fueling buses, tow-tractors, vans, sedans and ground support equipment.
