Ospreys, Eagles share airspace at Langley

CUMBERLAND, Ohio -- Staff members at a conservation facility here place identification bands around the claws of a recently relocated osprey from Langley Air Force Base, Va. The relocated osprey are given a blue band for the state of Ohio and a silver federal band so they can be tracked and observed. The 10,000-acre facility is the largest such facility in North America and is home to 200 animals and 24 different species. Eleven osprey were relocated from Langley to a conservation facility in Cumberland, Ohio, to control the population and minimize the risk of potential bird strikes.
