General Clark honored with service
Carolyn Clark Miller, daughter of Lt. Gen. Albert P. Clark, honors her father by placing a rose on his remains during a graveside service held March 17, 2010, at the Air Force Academy Cemetery in Colorado. General Clark, who died March 8, was the Academy's sixth superintendent from Aug. 1, 1970 to July 31, 1974. The general was a 1936 graduate of West Point and went on to a flying career after graduation. He spent 33 months as a prisoner of war after getting shot down flying a British Spitfire over Abbeville, France, in July 1942. (U.S. Air Force photo/Rachel Boettcher)
