Salute to veterans
BALTIMORE (AFPN) -- Members of the U.S. Air Force Band's Silver Wings entertain a hospitalized veteran at the Baltimore veterans' hospital during the National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Feb. 10. Silver Wings, based at Bolling Air Force Base, D.C., includes (from left) Master Sgts. Matt Ascione and Marie McDonough and Chief Master Sgt. Jim Queen. The salute, established in 1978, is designed to pay tribute to America's veterans, increase awareness of the role of Department of Veteran Affairs medical facilities, and encourage people to visit hospitalized veterans.
