Filling up on freedom

A KC-10 Extender connects to a second KC-10 Oct. 17 over Iraq. The refueling maneuver allowed the connecting KC-10 from the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing to offload more fuel for coalition aircraft missions in the area. A KC-10 can carry as much as 55,385 gallons of fuel . The 380th AEW is the largest air refueling wing in Southwest Asia flying both KC-10s and KC-135 Stratotankers under the 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron missions.
