Gaston blows through Charleston
CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. (AFPN) -- Tropical Storm Gaston hit here Aug. 29 causing minor damage and power outages. The outages began at 9 a.m. and all power was restored by 7 p.m. No aircraft were on the base when the storm hit. Most were supporting airlift missions worldwide, but 20 aircraft moved to MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., one to New Orleans and one to Navy North Island, Calif.
