WASHINGTON -- In honor of the Air Force's 54th anniversary, 54 airmen, ranging in ranks from senior airman to chief master sergeant, gathered in the Pentagon auditorium on Sept. 17, 2001, for a special reenlistment ceremony co-hosted by Secretary of the Air Force Dr. James G. Roche and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. John P. Jumper. After remarks from both co-hosts Gen. Jumper administered the oath of appointment to the 54 airmen then Dr. Roche presented his coin to each of the reenlistees. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Jim Varhegyi)
