A newly mounted twin-barreled Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23 gun fires 23 mm rounds from an Afghan air force Mi-35 on May 15, 2013, during a live fire exercise south of Kabul, Afghanistan. During the training mission the Afghan pilots fired a total of 725 rounds from two Mi-35s. The GSh-23 can destroy a target from the air and will provide vital air-to-ground support for the Afghan National Security Forces. (U.S. Air Force photo)
