Royal Canadian Air Force Capt. Christopher Schenk, an air weapons officer in the Alaskan NORAD Region Regional Air Operations Center (RAOC), displays the way Santa will appear on radar scopes during his flight Christmas Eve. While in ANR airspace, fighter aircraft from Alaska will provide escort to ensure he remains on schedule. U.S. and Canadian servicemembers utilize 15 radar stations to monitor Santa as he traverses the airspace around the northern latitudes of North America, a mission ANR has successfully accomplished for 50 years.
