The Tree of life
Brandon Nelson, a contract worker on the skeet range restoration project, prepares to plant a tree Oct. 13. The project began in September 2010, and made the area an ecologically safer place for base personnel and wildlife alike. More than 36 million pounds of contaminated soil, roughly 450 semi-trucks full, was excavated from the site for safety purposes. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Kaylee Clark)
