Project 175
Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Airmen "SNUFFY" attached to the 165th Air Support Operations Squadron, Brunswick, GA tries to put eyes on an F-18 while coordinating close air support over Townsend Range on August 16, 2011 during a three day field exercise in Brunswick, GA. The exercise is the final phase of their 45 day training class "Project 175" where they will bring everything they have learned throughout the course and apply it to this scenario earning them their five level. During exercises, contingencies, or actual war, the Air Support Operations mission is to provide meteorological support and deploy with, advise, and assist the ground force commander in planning, requesting, coordinating and controlling close air support, tactical air reconnaissance, and tactical airlift.
