Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., experienced winds exceeding 70 mph and more than eight inches of rainfall as Hurricane Irene swept through the area Aug. 27, 2011. Damage was minimal on base; however, flooding is still an issue in the low-lying areas on some roads and parking lots.
