Master Sgt. Tara Brown died Apr. 26, 2011, of wounds sustained when an Afghan gunman, who also killed seven other Airmen as well as an American civilian contractor, went on a shooting spree in the Afghan air force compound near Kabul, Afghanistan. Sergeant Brown was assigned to Headquarters AFOSI at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Client Support Technician, in the Personnel Division. She deployed to Afghanistan in January to help train Afghan air force technicians on basic computer fundamentals. (U.S. Air Force photo)
