Aero Lab harnesses energy from ocean waves
Dr. Stefan Siegel monitors a water tank in the basement of the Air Force Academy's Aeronautics Laboratory Jan. 27, 2011, containing a 1:300 scale model of a wave energy converter he designed. Officials with the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation have invested in a series of larger tests with a 1:10 scale model of the Academy's wave energy converter, which has harnessed upwards of 99 percent of energy in a wave.
