Military working dogs

Staff Sgt. David Simpson gives Robson, a 5-year-old German shepherd, the command to attack Staff Sgt. William Washer during a training exercise Dec. 29, 2010, at the 52nd Security Forces Squadron military working dog facility at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. Handlers play and train with their dogs in the snow to help them acclimate to cold German winters and harsh conditions in which they must work. Sergeant Simpson and Sergeant Washer are 52nd SFS military-working-dog handlers. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Nathanael Callon)
