Loading cargo
Aerial port Airmen from the 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron prepare to push pallets of cargo off a K-loader onto a waiting C-17 Globemaster III Nov. 3, 2010, at an air base in Southwest Asia. A K-loader is a specialized flat-bed truck designed to carry pallets of cargo from a marshalling yard to waiting aircraft. The K-loader's bed can be raised, lowered or pitched in different directions so that it mates perfectly with the cargo bay of any airlifter. The bed also is fitted with a roller system that allows Airmen to push pallets weighing up to 7,000 pounds off the truck and onto aircraft with ease. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Laura Turner)
