Elgin boom
Staff Sgt. Adam Elerson (right) and Airman 1st Class Brian Beauchamp pull boom out of a trailer July 14, 2010, at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., where 600 feet of boom was used to protect the shoreline. Boom is an oil containment device used to trap oil in the water so it can be collected before reaching the shore.
