Modular Airborne Firefighting System

Lt. Col. David Condit, the chief of safety for the 302nd Airlift Wing at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., and the Air Force Reserve Command’s Modular Airborne Firefighting System coordinator, checks a MAFFS unit. The unit is rolled into the back of a C-130 Hercules and can disperse up to 3,000 gallons of fire retardant in less than five seconds.
