Wright "B" Flyers prepare for Centennial

Walters is a retired Air Force pilot who began his military career in San Antonio and said he appreciated the opportunity come full circle as a volenteer to assemble the Wright "B" Flyer at Ft. Sam Houston, the home of militery aviation. Wright "B" Flyer Inc. crews assembled two Flyers in San Antonio, Texas, on Feb 27, 2010. The "Yellow Bird" the most authentic reproduction of the two features a wooden frame, Ford Model-A engine and hand carved propellers was assembled at Ft. Sam Houston. The “Yellow Bird” is scheduled to taxi on Ft. Sam Houston’s MacArthur Parade Ground, during the Centennial of Military Aviation on March 2. (U.S. Air Force photo/Lance Cheung)
