Wright "B" Flyers prepare for Centennial
Bathed in yellow light shining through fabric-covered wings of a Wright "B" Flyer, Frank Goepferich attaches the structural cables that give the biplane strength and light weight. He is part of the Wright "B" Flyer Inc. volunteers that came to Fort Sam Houston, to assemble their "Yellow Bird" in San Antonio, on Feb, 27, 2010. This Flyer is their most authentic lookalike featuring a wooden frame, Ford Model-A engine and hand carved propellers the "Yellow Bird" is scheduled to taxi on Fort Sam Houston's MacArthur Parade Ground, during the Centennial of Military Aviation on March 2.
