Wright "B" Flyers prepare for Centennial
Don Gum (center), Wright "B" Flyer pilot works near the rudder of the early biplane lookalike. The wood and tension cables give the frame strength and light weight. Wright "B" Flyer Inc. volunteers assembled two Flyers in San Antonio on Feb 27, 2010. The "Yellow Bird" is the most authentic lookalike of the two. It features a wooden frame, Ford Model-A engine and hand carved propellers was assembled at Fort Sam Houston. The "Yellow Bird" is scheduled to taxi on MacArthur Parade Ground, during the Centennial of Military Aviation on March 2. (U.S. Air Force photo/Lance Cheung)
