Visiting Afghan women
Staff Sgt. Danielle Sempter holds a 6-month old Afghan child during a visit to an all-girls school in the Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan. Servicemembers from a Provincial Reconstruction Team at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, traveled to Forward Operating Base Lion in the Panjshir Valley to meet with Afghan women there. Female servicemembers deployed to FOB Lion work hand in hand with the local Afghan women, teaching them things like first aid and how to increase their crop output. Sergeant Sempter is from Swansborough, N.C. and is deployed from Ramstein Air Base, Germany. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Susan Tracy)
