Tuskegee Airmen paved way for King's legacy
Don Elder speaks to guests at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Jan. 14 at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Mr. Elder said the Tuskegee Airmen's pursuit of serving their country as aviators and aircraft mechanics was a precursor to Dr. King's civil rights movement in the decades to come. Mr. Elder is a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen. (U.S. Air Force photo/Sandy Wassenmiller)
