Linebacker II campaign 35th anniversary marked
The 35th anniversary of Linebacker II was commemorated Dec. 18 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Linebacker II was an intensive 11-day bombing campaign in December 1972 designed to return the North Vietnamese to the Paris peace talks. During a special ceremony, 33 Airmen from the 393rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron stood in formation to pay special tribute to the 33 Airmen who gave their lives during the operation.
