AIR FORCE PHOTOS

Soldiers from the 173 Calvary Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron at Fort Bragg, N.C., are airdropped into the urban operations complex at the Nevada Test and Training Range from a C-17 Globemaster III Nov. 18, 2009, during a Mobility Air Forces Exercise being run by the faculty and students of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The aircraft and soldiers are part of the bi-annual MAFEX which provides realistic training for combat air force, mobility air force, and U.S. Army personnel. Approximately 40 C-17s and C-130 Hercules aircraft from Air Force bases around the U.S. flew some 400 Soldiers from Fort Bragg, N.C., for airdrops on the range. In addition to providing airdrop training, the exercise also allows Soldiers the opportunity to use range facilities to conduct urban ground operations training. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
